Booking
Browse our tour catalogue, select your preferred tour, choose a package (Basic, Standard, or Premium), set your date and group size, then click "Book Now." You'll be guided through a simple checkout with secure payment.
Yes! You can add up to 20 adults and 15 children in a single booking. For groups larger than 20, please contact us directly for a custom quote and a dedicated group coordinator.
We recommend booking at least 48 hours in advance to give your guide time to prepare. However, last-minute bookings (within 24 hours) are accepted where availability allows. During peak season (June–August, December), booking 2–4 weeks ahead is advisable.
Yes. Immediately after payment you'll receive a confirmation email with your booking reference, guide contact details, meeting point instructions, and a what-to-bring checklist. Your guide will also reach out within 24 hours.
Date changes and guest-count adjustments are free up to 48 hours before the tour. Within 48 hours, changes depend on guide availability. Contact our team at hello@wanderlust.com and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
Tours
  • Basic ($299): Core tour experience, small group (up to 10), standard duration.
  • Standard ($499): Enhanced experience with priority access, skip-the-line entry, and a light meal included.
  • Premium ($799): Fully private tour, luxury transport, gourmet dining, exclusive access, and a personalised itinerary.
Most tours welcome children, and kids under 5 are always free. Each tour page specifies age recommendations. Our guides are experienced at adapting the pace and content for family groups — just mention your children's ages in the special requests field.
Accessibility varies by destination. Each tour page has an accessibility rating. If you have specific mobility needs, please note them in your booking's Special Requests field or contact us before booking so we can recommend the most suitable option.
Most of our tours operate rain or shine — our guides know how to make even wet days memorable! In the case of severe weather that makes a tour unsafe (e.g., extreme storms), we'll contact you at least 3 hours before to reschedule or issue a full refund.
Absolutely. You can request a custom tour directly on any guide's profile page using the "Custom Tour" button, or contact us and we'll match you with the perfect guide for your vision.
Payments
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) as well as PayPal. All payments are processed securely through Stripe with 256-bit SSL encryption. We do not store your card details.
Yes, a 5% service fee is added at checkout. This covers platform maintenance, customer support, guide vetting, and our 1% sustainability pledge. The total is always displayed clearly before you confirm payment.
Package prices are per person. Children are counted at 70% of the adult rate. The booking widget calculates the total automatically as you adjust your group size. Children under 5 travel free on all tours.
All prices are displayed and charged in USD. If your card is in a different currency, your bank will apply their standard conversion rate. We currently do not offer multi-currency checkout, but this is on our roadmap.
Guides
Every guide goes through a rigorous selection process: identity verification, background check, interview with our Guide Operations team, a test tour, and first-aid certification. We only accept around 12% of guide applicants.
Yes! Browse guide profiles on our Guides page, filter by language, specialty, or rating, and book directly with your preferred guide. Alternatively, when booking a tour, we'll match you with the highest-rated available guide for your date.
Our guides collectively speak 40+ languages. You can filter guides by language on the Guides page. If you need a tour in a less common language, contact us and we'll source the right match for you.
We're always looking for passionate local experts. Contact us with a short introduction about yourself, your city, and your areas of expertise. Our Guide Operations team will be in touch within 5 business days.
Cancellation & Refunds
  • More than 72 hours before: Full refund, no questions asked.
  • 24–72 hours before: 50% refund or free reschedule.
  • Less than 24 hours before: No refund, but you may reschedule once for free.
  • Guide cancels: Full refund issued automatically within 3–5 business days.
Log in to your account and visit "My Bookings," or email hello@wanderlust.com with your booking reference. We'll process your request and send a confirmation within 1 hour during business hours.
Refunds are processed within 24 hours on our end. Depending on your bank or card issuer, funds typically appear in your account within 3–7 business days. PayPal refunds are usually instant.
Our optional Travel Insurance add-on (available at checkout) covers unforeseen cancellations due to illness, emergency, or travel disruption. We recommend it for any booking made more than 4 weeks in advance.
General
We currently operate in 45+ countries across 6 continents. Use the destination filter on our Tours page to explore what's available where you're travelling. We add new destinations every quarter.
You can browse and book without an account, but creating one (free) lets you save wishlists, manage bookings, view past tours, and get personalised recommendations. Register here.
We donate 1% of every booking to local conservation and community development projects through our 1% for the Planet partnership. We also carbon-offset all company travel, partner exclusively with sustainable accommodations, and actively discourage overtourism by capping group sizes.
Within 48 hours of your tour end time, you'll receive an email inviting you to leave a review. You can also log in to "My Bookings" and rate your experience from there. Reviews are published within 24 hours after moderation.
